What is a Testimony
A testimony is proof of what God has done in your life. Every time you tell your story of how you found Christ and what He has done for you, you are telling your testimony.
Each person's testimony is unique to them as it recounts your personal relationship with God, and gives Him honor and glory whenever you share it with others.
Importance
Your story is a testament to God's character and shows how God rescued you from the world and secured your spot with Him in heaven. In sharing your testimony, God is able to utilize you to connect to others.
Your testimony provides power over the enemy, and gives you strength in Christ the Lord.
Impact
You can never fully know what someone is experiencing within their life on this earth, only God truly knows that. Your testimony has the power to provide light into the lives of those around you. It can give hope to the hopeless, showing possibility where there previously was none.

How to Write a Testimony
There is no right or wrong way to tell your story. If you're looking to write your testimony for the first time a good starting point is to structure it like this:
1). Where you were
- What was your life like before you encountered God?
- What happened that lead up to your encounter with God?
2). When you met God
- When did you meet God?
- How did God work in your life?
3). Where are you now
- How does your life look different now that you've encountered God?
Your testimony should not be a laundry list of everything that has gone wrong in your life, but instead an example of how God has used it all for good.
